Letter to Minister of Agriculture and the Minister of Canada–U.S. Trade, Intergovernmental Affairs, Internal Trade and One Canadian Economy

I wrote to the Minister of Agriculture and the Minister of Canada–U.S. Trade, Intergovernmental Affairs, Internal Trade and One Canadian Economy to call for the removal of ongoing interprovincial trade barriers that continue to negatively impact local businesses, producers, and communities here in Lakeland and across Canada.

This letter raises concerns about how these barriers drive up costs, restrict market access, and hold back economic growth at a time when Canadians are already facing serious affordability pressures.
While I have not yet received a response, this issue is too important to let sit. Removing interprovincial trade barriers is a long-standing commitment of the federal government, and Canadians deserve action, not delays.

I will continue to press for practical solutions that strengthen Canada’s internal economy and support the workers, farmers, and entrepreneurs who keep our communities strong.
