Carney's so-called "major projects"
Let’s take a look at the so-called "major projects" that Carney has only REFERRED, not approved, to his $214 million bureaucratic Major Projects Office:
1. LNG Canada Phase 2: Approved in 2016
2. Darlington Nuclear: Under construction since May 2025
4. McIlvenna Bay Foran Copper Mine: Construction is already 50% complete.
5. Red Chris Mine expansion: Provincially fast-tracked in July 2025
6. Ksi Lisims LNG: Approved in September 2025
7. Crawford nickel-cobalt project: Still stuck in the regulator under Liberal red tape & Liberal anti-development laws
8. Sisson Mine Project: Approved in 2017 & Liberals promised construction in 2018!
9. Iqaluit Nukkiksautiit Hydro Project: Now facing another layer of Liberal MPO bureaucracy
10. Nouveau Monde Graphite Matawinie Mine: Approved in 2021
11. North Coast Transmission Line: Provincially fast-tracked in October 2025
Carney continues to talk a big game on natural resources, but he’s got nothing new to show for it. These aren’t new approvals.
The truth is, over 60 major projects remain stuck in the broken Liberal regulatory queue, while the Liberal government gives all their attention to projects that have already been approved.
Only Conservatives have a real plan to get projects built, create jobs, and develop Canada’s natural resources for the benefit of all Canadians.
