National Indigenous People’s Day
Today, June 21st, is National Indigenous People’s Day. A day where Canadians across the country recognize and celebrate the history, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people across our beautiful country
As the MP for Lakeland, I am proud to represent 9 Indigenous communities who strengthen and shape our region through their leadership and contributions. Since time immemorial, Indigenous peoples have stewarded lands and resources and passed down rich cultures and traditions through generations. They have contributed to Canadian society in agriculture, art, energy, public service, education, and so much more. Today, let’s celebrate Indigenous peoples and commit to action by listening and standing up for true reconciliACTION.
